The sun is shining and it feels like summer is coming to the Netherlands! Nonetheless, reality is starting to set in as the end of this chapter of my life in the Netherlands is coming closer. I’ve taken two-week period off of work to focus full time on writing my thesis for my MA International Relations at Leiden University. The pressure is on to finish (even though it’s due in July) in order to allow the rest of this Dutch chapter in life to be further stress-free. You may be asking, if this chapter is ending then what’s next? I haven’t written about it here yet, but I am incredibly happy to have signed the paperwork and confirmed my place at Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies in Bologna, Italy. Back in December, when I was informed of my admission to the university, I was incredibly happy and grateful to find out I had been selected for the European Fellowship Award. Next week, I will be writing from Bologna, to give my first impressions of the city. I’m super excited!
April, an international month
After coming back from Italy, I’ll be hanging out one more week in the Netherlands while preparing to go to Berlin with PEX Life, the eHealth startup I work for here in the Netherlands. We are heading Europe’s biggest gathering of Health IT, simply called ConHIT. From Berlin, I’ll be flying with my favorite airline, Norwegian Airlines, to the none other than Oakland, California. Just in time to get together with the Dutch community in the Bay Area to celebrate King’s Day. If you are in the Bay Area, I hope to see you there. 🙂 That’s not the only reason I’m flying back to my beloved Bay Area. Indeed, it’s become known for some time, that my parents are moving back to the Netherlands after being abroad for 20 years! I can attest to the fact that the time has surely flown by. I’m sure they aren’t too enthused that with their arrival I’m moving a couple months later to Italy. Oops. So, one last hoorah in Alamo, CA with them, before I embark with my younger brothers on a road trip across the United States. While Kaj is joining us part of the way, Ivar and I plan to drive over the span of 4 weeks to New York. I’ll make sure to give regular updates then.
The Europreneur Show
Two weeks ago I told you about my love for podcasts, and now I’m starting to piece together a podcast called the Europreneur Show. Tagline: “The podcast that interviews Europe’s brightest to give you actionable tips & life hacks.” I’m doing this together with a colleague I met through PEX Life: Hans van Dam. I expect it to be a great deal of fun, and we are expecting to launch later this summer. I’d love to have your support and feedback on how we can make an awesome podcast that will create value for you.
Sign up below to show us the love.
Thanks for tuning in, and I look forward to hearing from you.
